About Haventree Bank

Haventree Bank is a privately owned Toronto-based Schedule I chartered bank, founded in 1990 as Equity Financial Trust and rebranded as Haventree Bank in 2018 when it obtained its bank licence. It is an alternative (B-lender) mortgage lender operating through the mortgage-broker channel, funded by CDIC-insured GICs. In July 2026 it launched a direct-to-consumer digital bank offering a no-fee hybrid chequing/savings account and direct GICs.
